Contrada Genovese, in the countryside of Ceglie Messapica: olive and almond trees and dry-stone walls all around. The trullo has been fully restored, keeping the stone cones where they were, and around it sit an independent dependance, a shaded veranda, a garden and a pool. Here the heat sets the pace of the day: an early breakfast, lunch under the veranda, water in the afternoon.

What you need to know

Housekeeping: Midweek and final clean, with fresh linen halfway through; the team maintains the garden and the pool.
Utilities: Electricity, gas and water are included in the rate.
On arrival: The welcome basket is included.
Getting there: A car is needed: the contrada is open country. Brindisi airport is 40 minutes away.
On request: Private chauffeured transfer, a chef for a Pugliese dinner, extra cleaning: arranged by the team.
